Creativity Works: Multimedia Training

Helping young Londoners break into the media and creative industry

Creativity Works: Multimedia Training is a free, intensive four-week bootcamp for creative young Londoners. Combining high-impact media masterclasses with employability skills training, this is part of the Mayor’s Fund for London’s long-running Creativity Works programme in partnership with Media Trust, and supported by Citi Foundation.

Are you aged 18 – 24? If you’re living in London, currently not in education, employment or training and want to break into the media or creative industries, this Creativity Works programme will give you the skills you need – for  FREE!

In 2021 we celebrated ten seasons of Creativity Works!

Wondering what you can expect on the programme? Hear directly from our trainees themselves here.

The training will be delivered in a hybrid format, with some sessions delivered face-to-face and some online. Throughout the programme, you will visit media and creative businesses and get hands-on experience to help you land your first or next job! Additionally, you’ll also benefit from group mentoring sessions with industry experts who will provide you with advice and support.

We’ll mark the end of the programme with a showcase to celebrate your achievements during the four-weeks of training. We’ll be inviting our industry partners to the showcase so it will also be a networking opportunity.

The four-week programme will focus on building practical foundational skills for jobs in the media, advertising and creative industries.

The media and creative masterclasses cover a wide range of topics from photography to TV production, and from data and insights to social media. The sessions will be facilitated by Media Trust’s high-profile industry partners who include the BBC, Google, Hearst, Snap and Vice

You will learn the nuts and bolts of each area and get the chance to apply your newly-acquired skills through creating your own content, pitching your creative ideas, and receiving feedback from industry experts.

Throughout the programme, you’ll also benefit from employability and soft-skills training, including developing your CV, writing cover letters and interview techniques, as well as money management and tips on confidence-building and problem–solving.

Creativity Works helped me develop from a person who saw no way onto the career ladder, to someone who now has the world at their feet.
