Join us on Thursday 5 March 2020, 12:45-17:30, for an afternoon of creative brainstorming and advice from your own dedicated team of media and creative industry experts.

Free advice from media and creative industry professionals

For a fourth year running, we will be celebrating International Women’s Day by bringing together 30 charities that support, campaign and advocate for women and girls with 150 media and creative volunteers from organisations such as adam&eveDDB, the BBC, BBH, Facebook, Google, Hearst, MediaCom and Weber Shandwick to raise the profile and voice of women and girls, and the issues that affect them.

“Absolutely brilliant! I feel very inspired to have worked with such a knowledgeable, supportive and creative group of women!”

Samantha Hudson, Refugee Women

How it works

Each successful charity will be matched with a team of four to six media and creative volunteers who have the expertise and skill set to work on your specific communications challenge. We are looking for challenges that focus on strategic communications, digital campaigns or engaging more effectively with new audiences.

You will work collectively with your team of volunteers to creatively brainstorm ideas before designing an action plan for your charity to take forward.

The event will finish with a showcase of key ideas, takeaways and discussion points, followed by networking and drinks.

A time to celebrate women

International Women’s Day is a time to call for change and to celebrate acts of courage and determination by ordinary women who have played an extraordinary role in history. It is a day to collectively help women advance and we’re supporting organisations to do this by raising the profile of their work.

This year’s theme is #EachforEqual focussing on gender equality within business and the economy.

The IWD 2020 campaign theme is drawn from a notion of ‘Collective Individualism.’ We are all parts of a whole. Our individual actions, conversations, behaviours and mindsets can have an impact on our larger society. Collectively, we can make change happen. Collectively, we can each help to create a gender equal world.

Media Trust promotes equality and diversity. We positively welcome applications from transgender individuals and charities working with the transgender community.
