Women’s Voices 2023 – media and creative volunteers needed!

08 Mar

Academy London, SW1W 9SH

Wednesday 8 March 2023 10:00 - 16:00

Join Media Trust on Wednesday 8 March 2023 for our seventh Women’s Voices event where we will bring together talented professionals from across the media and creative industry to share their expertise with 30 charities that support, campaign and advocate for women and girls.

We’re looking for 150 media and creative professionals to volunteer at our Women’s Voices event in celebration of International Women’s Day. Lend your skills for a day of innovation, strategic thinking and expert advice to help strengthen the campaigns and communications of charities supporting women and girls.

As the UK is impacted by the cost of living crisis, our charities need volunteer support now more than ever to campaign on behalf of women most impacted by poverty and inequality. We’re looking for expertise from across the industry to share strategic insights and ideas with charities who need help to communicate more effectively online.

How it works

You will join a team of two to four media and creative industry volunteers and be matched with a charity based on your specific skill set. As a team, you will spend the day working on the charity’s specific communications challenge, discussing solutions and providing strategic media, creative and campaign advice.

Before the event, you will be sent your charity’s communications challenge brief and be introduced to your team. Media Trust will also host a virtual volunteer briefing session – taking place on Wednesday 1 March 2023 – where you can hear more about the event and ask questions.

You can read more about a previous volunteer’s experience here.

Women’s Voices was a hugely positive experience for me. There was great energy in the room, a fabulous breadth of experience and I felt that I learnt as much as the charity we were helping did.

We need you!

Your skills are invaluable to charities. We’re looking for creatives, content makers, marketeers, journalists, planners, strategists, digital and social media experts, PR, campaigners and more. This is a fantastic opportunity for you to volunteer your skills to help develop creative solutions that raise awareness, engage with new audiences and drive action for women and girls. Ever struggled to make use of that annual workplace volunteering day? This is your chance to use your time and skills to affect real positive change.

All we ask is that you have a minimum of two years’ experience working within the media or creative industry. You don’t have to identify as a woman to apply – we positively welcome applications from people of all genders.

How to apply

To apply, complete the application form below. The deadline for applications is Friday 3 February at 09:00.

Places are limited. Volunteers will be selected based on having relevant skills and experience that match with a charity’s specific communications challenge. Please note that by applying to volunteer you will not automatically be accepted.

Applications for Women’s Voices 2023 are now closed.

I had an amazing experience. The speakers were brilliant and so inspiring, and working with the charity was rewarding. I will definitely be volunteering again.
