Women’s Voices 2022 – media and creative volunteers needed!
Tuesday 8 March 2022 10:00 - 16:00

Join Media Trust on Tuesday 8 March 2022 for our sixth Women’s Voices event where we will bring together talented professionals from across the media and creative industry to share their expertise with 30 charities that support, campaign and advocate for all women and girls.
We’re looking for 150 media and creative professionals to volunteer at our Women’s Voices event in celebration of International Women’s Day. Lend your skills for a day of innovation, strategic thinking and expert advice to help strengthen the campaigns and communications of charities supporting all women and girls.
Now more than ever we need volunteer support from across the industry to share expertise with charities who need help with a communications challenge, such as strategic communications support, digital campaign ideas or how to engage more effectively with their audience. Join peers from across the industry and volunteer your skills at this unmissable event.
Date: Tuesday 8 March 2022
Time: 10:00 – 16:00
Location: Virtual (Zoom)
How it works
You will join a team of two to four media and creative industry volunteers and be matched with a charity based on your specific skill set. As a team, you will spend the day working on the charity’s specific communications challenge, discussing solutions and providing strategic media, creative and campaign advice.
You will be sent your charity’s communications challenge brief and be introduced to your team ahead of the event. Media Trust will also host a volunteer briefing session taking place on Tuesday 1 March 2022 for you to hear more about the event.
We’re also thrilled to be welcoming Joeli Brearley, founder of Pregnant Then Screwed, and Zara Mohammed, Secretary General of Muslim Council of Britain, as our keynote speakers at the event!
I loved my team, the challenge we had, I learned about ways of working and also about the amazing work the charities do. And it was a great way to step out of the daily jobs we all have and to put on various hats.

It was a great way to spend International Women’s Day, helping such a great cause and being able to provide value based on my skills and abilities.

Our commitment to equalities and inclusion
Women’s Voices is a space for all women, including and in particular those from underrepresented backgrounds e.g. lesbian and bi women, trans women, disabled women and women of colour.
At Media Trust, we proudly work to ensure our programme and event environments feel safe, supportive and inclusive for all of those taking part. And we ask that partners and participants help us to do the same.
A time to celebrate women
International Women’s Day is a time to call for change and to celebrate acts of courage and determination by ordinary women who have played an extraordinary role in history. It is a day to collectively help women advance and we’re supporting organisations to do this by raising the profile of their work.
This year’s theme is #BreakTheBias, which focuses on gender bias, discrimination and stereotyping.
Imagine a gender equal world. A world free of bias, stereotypes, and discrimination. A world that is diverse, equitable, and inclusive. A world where difference is valued and celebrated. Together we can forge women’s equality. Collectively we can all #BreakTheBias.
