Media Trust’s “In Conversation With” series puts global media, technology visionaries and disruptors in the hot seat.

Join us for what promises to be a riveting discussion on Challenging Uncomfortable Truths between the BBC’s Kamal Ahmed and Unilever’s Chief Marketing Communications Officer, President of the Advertising Association, and WFA’s Global Marketer of the Year 2018, Keith Weed.

Media Trust Trustee and BBC News Editorial Director Kamal Ahmed will be quizzing Keith on:

– A stellar marketing career that has been marked by provocative campaigns challenging uncomfortable truths and championing change in gender stereotyping across advertising;

– Why trust in advertising is at an all-time low, the role of the media industry and what to do to build trust;

– How to achieve systemic change through collaborative partnerships with the UN and other industry players to restore the public’s trust.

Hosted at Academy London, Victoria, doors open at 18:00 and the discussion will begin at 18:30.

Keith Weed-

After 35 years Keith Weed has announced he is soon to be retiring from Unilever. As Chief Marketing and Communications Officer for the last nine years, WFA’s Global Marketer of the Year 2018 and Forbes World’s Most Influential Marketer for two years running, Weed has had huge impact within the marketing industry. Breaking the mould with stereotypes with initiatives such as #Unstereotype and the #Unstereotype Alliance with UN Women, and directing significant advances in influencer marketing, digital responsibility and cross media measurement. Weed is also President of the Advertising Association where he continues to influence the advertising industry with his vast experience and knowledge
