Social Media Essentials

19 Oct

Media Trust, W12 7SB

Thursday 19 October 2017 10:00 - 16:00

As social media becomes more and more popular, it provides a unique opportunity to reach your audience. Whether your charity wants to raise funds, spread awareness or recruit volunteers, your audience is on social media and you should be too.

With campaigns such as the ice bucket challenge funding groundbreaking research, there is now real evidence that online successes can make a huge difference to charities.

But where do you start? There are so many platforms available and such a vast array of new terminology that it can sometimes seem a little overwhelming.

We understand the budget and resource restraints of the charity sector, so we want to help you get the most from social media with this crash course for beginners. This course will provide an introduction to the most popular social media platforms and the ways to utilise them to achieve your charity’s goals.

At the end of this training you will:

  •  Learn about popular platforms including Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Instagram, how they work and the key functionality of each
  • Understand how audiences behave on each platform and different engagement tactics to connect with new and existing audiences
  • Discover how to measure your efforts against your goals by understanding basic social media metrics and analytics

A true industry expert led workshop. The trainer knew the subject inside out. Would really recommended.
