Our Transforming Hidden Talent programme, as part of the Queens Young Leaders, creates amazing opportunities for young people in London, Manchester and Birmingham who are interested in the creative and media industries.

By connecting 16-25 year olds with top creative organisations, the programme gives an inside view into what it’s like working in the media industry.

We are looking for people who are keen to work in the creative industries but who may not have come across the right opportunities yet.

80% of the young people who participated in our pilot year have moved into work, apprenticeships or educational opportunities within the creative industries.

Getting work-ready

Each year, 100 young people are recruited onto to the Transforming Hidden Talent initiative across London, Manchester and Birmingham.

By taking part, each person is matched with an experienced professional working in the creative or media industry.Via their mentor they will receive one-to-one personalised career support.

Participants also benefit from help developing their CV, preparing for interviews and the opportunity to practice networking skills, whilst making new contacts within the media industry.

My mentor was incredibly helpful throughout our mentorship and it is thanks to him that I am now so much more confident.

I’ve learned so many things in these months and I’ve grown so much on a professional level.

Workshops

As well as their individual mentorships, Transforming Hidden Talent offers exciting workshops with top media companies, from podcasting to advertising to filmmaking.

Media Trust will be on hand to support mentees and their mentors throughout the project.
