Women’s Voices 2020 – media and creative volunteers needed!

Join Media Trust on Thursday 5 March 2020 for our Women’s Voices event where we will bring together some of the most talented professionals from across the media and creative industry to share their expertise with 30 charities that support, campaign and advocate for women and girls.

We are looking for 150 media and creative professionals to volunteer at our Women’s Voices event in celebration of International Women’s Day, for an afternoon of ideas generation, strategic thinking and advice to help strengthen the campaigns and communications of charities supporting women and girls.

How it works

You will join a team of 3-5 media and creative industry volunteers and be matched with a charity that supports women and girls based on your specific skill set. As a team, you will work on the charity’s specific communications challenge and provide strategic media, creative and campaign advice. Challenges could focus on strategic communications, digital campaigns or engaging more effectively with new audiences.

On the day, your team will have 2 ½ hours to brainstorm ideas and discuss solutions to help the charity with their specific communications challenge.

The afternoon will also include light lunch when you arrive. The event will finish with a showcase of key ideas and discussion points, followed by networking and drinks.

Big brands have huge budgets and massive flexibility to influence people. It's great to lend my skills to an organisation with a small budget that really needs the help.

We need you!

Your skills are invaluable to our charities. We’re looking for PR specialists, planners, creatives, marketeers, strategists or those who work in a similar role.

All we ask is that you have a minimum of three years’ experience working within the media or creative industry. We positively welcome applications from all gender identities.

This is a fantastic opportunity for you to volunteer your skills to help develop creative solutions that raise awareness, engage with new audiences and drive action among women and girls.

Volunteers will be selected based on having relevant skills and experience that match with the charity’s specific communications challenge. Please note that by applying to volunteer at Women’s Voices you will not automatically be accepted.

A time to celebrate women

International Women’s Day is a time to call for change and to celebrate acts of courage and determination by ordinary women who have played an extraordinary role in history. It is a day to collectively help women advance and we’re supporting organisations to do this by raising the profile of their work.

This year’s theme is #EachforEqual focussing on gender equality within business and the economy.

The IWD 2020 campaign theme is drawn from a notion of ‘Collective Individualism.’ We are all parts of a whole. Our individual actions, conversations, behaviours and mindsets can have an impact on our larger society. Collectively, we can make change happen. Collectively, we can each help to create a gender equal world.
