Media Trust’s Headlining Mental Health programme supports UK mental health organisations to strengthen their strategic communications so they can increase their visibility and reach, challenge stigma and get their voices heard.
About the event
Social media can help organisations reach people who need support and raise awareness about mental health amongst the public, policy-makers and funders.
But we know that maintaining multiple social media accounts across Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, TikTok, Twitter, and YouTube can be time-consuming and technical.
We’ve teamed up with Edelman to offer mental health and wellbeing organisations a one-hour session to help you ace your social. This masterclass will help you work out which social media platforms are essential for your charity, and which to ditch. We’ll also cover how often to post, what to say, and how to make maintaining social media feel more manageable.

About your speakers
Simon Quinton has been working in social media, digital measurement and analytics for 14+ years. His specialisms include digital strategy, channel/content and campaign analysis, influencer identification and mapping, holistic and digital measurement (including shaping KPIs and frameworks) and social listening; alongside a number of wider digital practices such as paid media, search analysis and web analytics.
He began his career at social media agency 1000Heads, working extensively on large mobile brands and has been with Edelman and DXI combined since 2010, working on a variety of blue-chip brands including Unilever, HP, AstraZeneca, Samsung, ASICS, DP World, Disney and Shell, to name just a few.
Attendance and eligibility
The masterclass is open to all mental health organisations, whether you run mental health services, carry out research, or campaign against stigma.
We warmly welcome organisations working with wellbeing, addiction, the psychological effects of violence and abuse, and the mental health impacts of physical illness.
Charities working at the intersection of mental health and other issues are also very welcome.
Level
The masterclass is aimed at a beginner to intermediate level. You will need to understand how to post on social media, and ideally be able to post pictures or even videos.
