Digital Summer School 2022

04 Jul 22 Jul

Monday 4 July 2022 - Friday 22 July 2022 09:00 - 16:00

Calling all charities supporting women and girls! Looking for creative ways to tell your story? Attend Media Trust's Digital Summer School and start shouting from the digital rooftops about the amazing work you’re doing.

Media Trust’s Digital Summer School is a three-week online course where you’ll learn how to create compelling content that connects with your audience.

Charities have told us they struggle with creating content. In fact, it’s one of the top three comms challenges facing the charity sector*.

We get it! It’s time consuming and can feel like a never-ending task. Our Digital Summer School will support your charity in crafting your story, creating content with impact, and amplifying your voice in a digital world.

Our digital and charity experts will provide specialist training and mentoring – helping you take your content and comms to the next level.

Ready to dive in? There’s never been a better time to invest in your digital skills. You’ll soon be producing consistent, relevant and engaging content that will hit the mark with your target audience.

Don’t just take our word for it! 100% of participants from our Digital Spring School last year increased the use of digital tools and platforms at their organisations.

Well organised and facilitated. The trainers and content were excellent - best training I've attended this year.

Live virtual training

Every Tuesday and Thursday morning, there will be a 90-minute workshop, each on a different topic and delivered by a digital expert.

Digital mentoring

In addition, you’llbe invited to join small group mentoring sessions on a Thursday afternoon for 60-90 minutes. These will be led by a media/creative industry volunteer who can offer advice on your chosen topic area. This is also a unique opportunity to network and share ideas with other charities supporting women and girls. These sessions are optional, and places will be limited.

Learning resources

All participants will have access to free guides, pre-recorded webinars, toolkits and other resources to build your learning throughout, and beyond, Digital Summer School. Please note that for some of the training sessions, you will be set a homework task. This is to be completed in your own time and will help you process and apply your learning in the context of your own organisation.

Wellbeing activities

Each week, you will also gain exclusive access to live virtual wellbeing activities like desk-based yoga and breathwork classes to help you feel refreshed and energised!

Week by week themes

Digital Summer School will run across three weeks with each week covering a different theme:

Week 1: Craft your story (4 – 8 July)

This week focuses on digital storytelling. Learn practical ways to identify what your audience is interested in and how to build content around your digital marketing goals.

Week 2: Amplify your voice (11 – 15 July)

This week, we look at re-purposing your content so you can be more visible across your digital comms. You will also focus on a particular type of content in a practical workshop. Choose between TikTok or email marketing.

Week 3: Lead the conversation (18 – 22 July)

The final week we get to grips with filling your content calendar. Plus, choose from copy writing or producing video content for your final practical workshop.

The Digital Spring School provided me with the skills, knowledge and confidence to carry out a comprehensive review of our digital communications... this has helped us to be much more strategic and focused with our comms.
