Speedpitching at the Daily Mirror
Tuesday 12 February 2019 11:30 - 14:00
Do you have a newsworthy story? Would you like to secure national press coverage for your charity? Do you want the opportunity to pitch your charity's stories to leading journalists and editors at the Daily Mirror? Join us at the Daily Mirror's headquarters on 12 February for the chance to do all of this and more at our Speedpitching event.
Speedpitching brings together journalists and editors with charities, and is based on the speed dating model only without the awkward conversations.
You will have 15 minutes face-to-face with each journalist to pitch your story, with the potential to secure coverage for your organisation, campaign or cause. You will also get on the spot feedback and advice, helping you to identify newsworthy stories that fit with the current news agenda.
Who should attend?
If you work in communications or campaigns within your charity or are the lead on a project or programme that you think has newsworthy potential then this event is for you.
We will select six charities with the most engaging, newsworthy stories to join us at the Daily Mirror. We are looking for:
- Charities with newsworthy stories, relevant to the current news agenda.
- Charities who are launching a new campaign in the near future.
- We are especially keen to hear from environmental charities, charities with stories relating to travel and charities who can shine a light on social issues that haven’t been covered in the national media.
Deadline for applications: Friday 25 January 2019 at 5:00pm. Successful charities will be notified no later than Friday 1 February 2019.
Please note only one person can attend per charity. This event is for registered charities only.
