NatWest Group Pensioners Benevolent Fund
Help needed to raise profile of grant making charity
We know that our beneficiaries are retired former staff of NatWest Group companies and their dependents, but we don’t know how to make them aware of our services. In the 10 months to 31 Dec, we had 41 enquiries and made 28 grants, but there must be thousands of elderly and vulnerable people who could use our support.
We would like a volunteer to help us create and map out a targeted communications strategy to reach our beneficiaries - to help us build an in-depth picture of our stakeholders and how best to communicate with them; map out and explore all the platform and content options for each stakeholder group; measuring success, targets, evaluations and reviews and recommended next steps to implement the strategy.
Our funding can be genuinely life-changing; our beneficiaries struggle to meet day-to-day expenses so a broken cooker can be a financial disaster. Helping us raise our profile will allow us to help more elderly and vulnerable people in their time of need.

Charity Details
The Benevolent Fund is a registered charity for the retired employees of the NatWest Group of companies and their dependants and is totally independent of the Bank. It is managed by a board of Trustees, all volunteers, who are retired and serving employees. We provide grants for one-off expenses such as new glasses, a replacement oven or an accessible wet room. In the year to 31 March 2024, we distributed £40,975 in grants to 34 pensioners who fall within the income and capital criteria as defined by our application procedures. We have also made discretionary payments totalling £5,850 to 26 pensioners during this period to help them cope with the continuing impact of inflation on the cost of living.
