Sunday Assembly London
Support needed to design and implement marketing campaign for fundraising event
As a small charity, we rely heavily on fundraising events to keep the lights on. The biggest event in our fundraising calendar is the festive pop sing-along Yule Rock, led by our wonderful community band. However, ticket sales have declined significantly since the pandemic, and we have struggled to attract new audiences: we’d love to see this year’s event (held on 12th December at Rich Mix) sell out so that we can continue fostering community and connection through our secular and inclusive gatherings.
We are looking for a creative and strategically minded volunteer to craft a marketing campaign for the event, with a view to achieving wider reach both via our own channels (currently our website, newsletter, Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn) and via media such as listings websites, Google Ads and the press. As well as guidance on where to most effectively focus our limited comms resources, we'd ideally like fresh, engaging copy for use across our website, mailing list and social media, and an attention-grabbing press release.

Sunday Assembly London aims to foster community and connection by supporting Londoners to live better, help often and wonder more, together. Our twice monthly gatherings feature inspiring talks, uplifting poetry, communal singing (proven to have lots of mental health benefits!), and lots of tea. In addition, we hold smaller group events such as the lunch club, boardgames club, article club, community volunteering meet ups and an annual ice cream crawl, all providing opportunities to meet others, make friends, and push back against the loneliness epidemic.
We're a secular and inclusive organisation, proudly welcoming all who welcome all. We particularly welcome those who have struggled to find community elsewhere.
