Join us for a one-hour masterclass with Green New Deal Rising, a youth-led movement championing climate justice across the UK

Join us for a one-hour Communicating Climate masterclass with Green New Deal Rising, a youth movement championing climate justice across the UK. In their latest campaign, “There’s No Growth on a Dead Planet,” they challenge the government’s climate policies, emphasising that true economic growth cannot occur without a healthy planet.

Key topics include:

  • Understanding climate justice: Exploring the principles of climate justice and the necessity of addressing both environmental sustainability and social equity.
  • The UK political landscape: Examining current UK climate policies, recent governmental shifts, and the key players influencing climate action.
  • Effective advocacy strategies: Learning from Green New Deal Rising’s initiatives, including their recent efforts to counteract governmental climate policy reversals and their call to action for public participation.
  • Interactive Discussion: Exploring the question ‘How do we effectively promote climate justice within the UK’s current political framework’. This will be an opportunity for attendees to ask questions and share your thoughts about practical steps for climate advocacy.

By the end of this session, attendees will have a clearer understanding of the current challenges in UK climate politics. Participants will be equipped with practical strategies to enhance their campaigning and organising efforts for a sustainable and just future.
