Crisis Comms Masterclass with Edelman
Thursday 4 February 2021 12:00 - 14:00
Media Trust has teamed up with global communications agency Edelman for this free masterclass to share their expertise on best communications practice during moments of crisis like during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The importance and rise in support for charities has been one positive impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. As a result, it has never been more important for charitable organisations to ensure they can build trust, and continue to build on their reputation while under the spotlight.
Edelman’s team of Issues & Crisis specialists work to identify, plan for and manage reputational issues for some of the world’s biggest global brands, businesses and other organisations.
This masterclass will be an opportunity to learn about and discuss:
- How to spot a crisis issue early on
- Safeguards for charities to put in place to prepare for a crisis
- How to deal with a PR crisis using traditional media and social media
- Case study examples of charities navigating a crisis situation
- 5 key take-away action points
Following the session, members of the Edelman Issues & Crisis team will be available for small group coaching in breakout rooms to offer tailored advice to charity attendees for up to 60 minutes.
To attend this Masterclass, your organisation must support beneficiaries from one or more of the nine protective characteristics detailed in the Equality Act (2010): age, disability, gender reassignment, race, religion or belief, sex, sexual orientation, marriage and civil partnership and pregnancy and maternity.
Improver – this masterclass is a good development opportunity for charity professionals who have some prior knowledge of crisis comms.
Please note that places will be served on a first come first served basis.
