Thursday 10 September 2020 09:30 - 17:00
One hundred million hours of video are watched on Facebook every day and experts say one minute of video is worth 1.8 million words. That's why in today's 'video-first' world, it's more important than ever for organisations to be using video content as part of their communications strategy.
With this practical one-day workshop, you’ll learn the basic skills needed to create videos from scratch, using limited resources without sacrificing on quality. A hands-on learning environment will get you using your phone to make content and equip you with the skills to begin shooting videos for your charity right away.
You’ll be led by an expert filmmaker, with experience producing high-quality charity films, who will give you the opportunity to ask questions about the filming style and equipment that best suits your needs. Your training will end with the chance to practice what you’ve learned by filming and editing a short piece with support and feedback from your trainer.
This beginners’ course is ideal for you if you want to start using film for your organisation’s communications but have limited experience and budget.
About the trainer:
Tom is an award-winning (The Drum, Cannes Corporate, EVCOM) film director, producer and writer. He has extensive experience in the third sector, delivering online and TV campaigns for clients such as Anthony Nolan and British Red Cross, and recently won ‘Best Video Campaign’ at The Drum Social Purpose Awards for the second year in a row.
I feel more confident in my ability to make decent footage, which will help with improving my organisation's video based content.
