Stronger Voices: Bringing Fun Back to the Feed
Thursday 26 February 2026 10:30 - 12:00
Join us for this exciting masterclass led by social media specialist, Remi Olokun of My Life, My Say
Stronger Voices is a Media Trust programme designed to strengthen the voices of equality organisations across London. Funded by City Bridge Foundation, the programme aims to support equalities organisations to strengthen their strategic communications to improve representation of marginalised communities facing inequality.
How to strengthen authentic connection on your charity’s social media channels:
Social media is one of the most powerful ways to connect with supporters, service users, and funders. But if your content relies on engaging with your audience’s worries and fears, it might be less effective than you’d hope.
People spend increasingly longer time on their phones amidst shrinking attention spans, yet the prevalence ‘ragebait’ online means that making a sustainable and authentic connection with your audience is no longer the norm.
Making small changes to your social media best practice can have a huge positive impact. This masterclass will give you the tools to create social media content that inspires hope in your audience.
From using ‘hooks’ to using humour, we’ll cover practical steps to bring fun back into your feed.
What you’ll learn:
- How social media currently garners engagement
- Finding the humour in the human
- Beating the algorithm
- How to incorporate joy into your social media strategy
