Stronger Voices x The Guardian: Pitching Equalities Stories to Journalists

Unlock the secrets to successfully pitch your equalities stories to journalists in our exclusive online Stronger Voices masterclass with senior Guardian journalist Joseph Harker. Join us on 28 February, 10:00-12:00 for a two-hour session to hear what The Guardian look for in a pitch.

Despite the incredible work your organisation does, breaking through the media noise can be challenging. Join us in this session to learn how to approach journalists, build valuable media networks, and ensure your impactful stories reach a wider audience.

Understand the elements that make your story stand out and how to craft an attention-grabbing pitch that would resonates with The Guardian and its readership.

In this online masterclass,  you’ll learn:

  • Things to consider before pitching an equalities story – how pitches differ between publications, types of articles, and what to research in advance
  • What you need to write the perfect pitch – the formula for a strong pitch and building relationships with journalists
  • Answers to common questions about pitching – is there a certain time of day that’s best to pitch at? When can I chase for a reply? Can I target multiple outlets at the same time?

Level:

Beginner to intermediate
