Stronger Voices Masterclass: Connecting Personal Stories to the Political

04 Jun

Thursday 4 June 2026 10:30 - 12:00

How to use storytelling to connect personal stories to wider social issues

How you tell stories about your work is one of the most important things to consider in connecting with supporters, service users and funders. Effective charities communications are now focused on connecting the personal to wider social issues via storytelling.

More than ever before, charities need to connect with audiences on a human level through their social media strategy, media work and website.

Understanding the value of storytelling can have a huge impact. This session will take you through a practical approach on how to tell the right stories through your case studies, service users, staff and others and tailor them for each communication channel to maximise their impact.

What you’ll learn:

  • Understanding the media ecosystem
  • Identifying the right voices, stories and case studies
  • Safeguarding care for personal stories
  • Insights and learnings from case studies of personal stories across the equalities sector
  • Tips, tricks and advice on how to apply learnings right away

Who is this for?

Stronger Voices Masterclasses are aimed at professionals in the equalities sector who work in a communications, media, social media, campaigning or a strategy role and/or have an interest in embedding accessibility within their organisation’s comms.
