Women’s Voices 2022 – International Women’s Day
Tuesday 8 March 2022 10:00 - 16:00
If your charity supports women and girls and is looking to reach new audiences, develop a campaign or raise awareness about your cause, then we invite you to apply for a place at Media Trust’s Women’s Voices in celebration of International Women’s Day.
Join us virtually on Tuesday 8 March 2022 from 10:00 – 16:00 for a day of creative brainstorming and advice with your own dedicated team of media and creative industry experts.
Free advice from media and creative industry professionals
For the sixth year running, we will be celebrating International Women’s Day by bringing together 30 charities that support, campaign and advocate for all women and girls, with 150 media and creative volunteers from organisations such as adam&eveDDB, BBC, Bloomberg, Dentsu Aegis, Google, Hearst, ITV, MediaCom, Meta, Telegraph and Twitter to help raise their profile and voices, and the issues that affect them.
We had a great team of volunteers with complementary expertise. They came up with some excellent ideas and suggestions for breaking through to our target audiences and amplifying our reach as an organisation.Population Matters
Each successful charity will be matched with a team of media and creative volunteers who have the expertise and skillset to work on your specific communications challenge. We are looking for challenges that focus on strategic communications, digital campaigns or engaging more effectively with your audiences.
You will work collectively with your team of volunteers in breakout rooms to creatively brainstorm ideas before designing a communications action plan for your charity to take forward.
We’re also thrilled to be welcoming Joeli Brearley, founder of Pregnant Then Screwed, and Zara Mohammed, Secretary General of Muslim Council of Britain, as our keynote speakers at the event!

Our commitment to equalities and inclusion
Women’s Voices is a space for all women, including and in particular those from underrepresented backgrounds e.g. lesbian and bi women, trans women, disabled women and women of colour.
At Media Trust, we proudly work to ensure our programme and event environments feel safe, supportive and inclusive for all of those taking part. And we ask that partners and participants help us to do the same.
A time to celebrate women
International Women’s Day is a time to call for change and to celebrate acts of courage and determination by ordinary women who have played an extraordinary role in history. It is a day to collectively help women advance and we’re supporting organisations to do this by raising the profile of their work.
This year’s theme is #BreakTheBias, which focuses on gender bias, discrimination and stereotyping.
Imagine a gender equal world. A world free of bias, stereotypes, and discrimination. A world that is diverse, equitable, and inclusive. A world where difference is valued and celebrated. Together we can forge women’s equality. Collectively we can all #BreakTheBias.
