The Wave Project has recently completed a large thematic review of young people’s feedback, including written reflections, drawings and creative responses about mental health, belonging, confidence and what helps them feel supported.

We want to explore how this rich qualitative evidence could become a short animation or digital visual story, using young people’s own words and visual language rather than creating a conventional charity promotional film.

We already have the research findings, anonymised qualitative material and a clear understanding of the key themes. We are looking for a volunteer with animation, visual storytelling, graphic design or film experience who can help us develop the creative concept, storyboard and ideally an initial prototype or short piece.

Success would be an engaging and sensitive creative output that makes young people’s experiences accessible to practitioners, commissioners, funders and the wider public.

Ultimately, we want young people’s voices to influence how mental health support is understood and designed.
