Be a Digital Mentor: One-to-One Support for Charities This July

Digital Skills Festival

  • Date: Wednesday 16 and Thursday 17 July
  • Time: 30-minute time slots between 14:00 – 16:00
  • Location: Zoom (Media Trust will manage all logistics)
  • Activity: One-to-one comms strategy mentoring, social media troubleshooting, inclusive comms support

Overview: At Media Trust, we believe that every charity has a story worth telling – one that can inspire action, shift perspectives and create real change. But with rapid advancements in AI, the rise of misinformation and increasingly crowded digital channels, having strategic and impactful communications is essential for charities. To effectively cut through the noise, reach their target audiences and raise vital support, charities need the right digital skills, including how to leverage AI for good. This can be especially challenging for smaller charities that may not have access to expert help.

How you can get involved

As part of Media Trust’s Digital Skills Festival, we will be hosting 30-minute virtual one-to-one strategy sessions where charity professionals can get tailored advice on their social media challenges.

Running from Wednesday 16 and Thursday 17 July from 14:00 to 16:00, we’re looking for volunteers from leading agencies and media organisations to join our strategy sessions and share their expertise.

There is no preparation required, volunteers simply turn up for their scheduled slots, listen to the charity’s challenge, and share advice based on the charity’s specific needs. Many past volunteers have found their experience rewarding, energising, and a refreshing break from their regular day-to-day work.

It’s a small-time commitment with a big impact, and an excellent way to contribute your skills to organisations doing vital work in communities across the UK.
