Age UK Rotherham

Celebrating 40 exceptional years at Age UK Rotherham.

Age UK Rotherham would like to celebrate our 40th Anniversary by showcasing the wonderful work we do through film and the voices of older people. We wish to produce a visual collage of people and settings highlighting the important work we deliver as well as the fun and friendship experienced by the older people using our services and attending activities through a combination of stills, moving footage and voices.

The work can be produced over 3-4 stand-alone phases which we'd like to screen at the various celebration events we have planned in 2025; events which can also be used to develop content and speak to Age UK Rotherham's clients and stakeholders.

This project will need recording and editing skills to produce a 6-8 minute recording that can be uploaded to YouTube, website and social media channels with sharable links.

The finished piece would not only highlight the important work we do locally but also act as a promotional video to audiences not currently engaged with us both individuals and corporate supporters. It will be our legacy as a small, local, independent charity and also be a testament to Age UK Rotherham's staff, volunteers, partner organisations and beneficiaries.

Age UK Rotherham is an independent local charity, affiliated to the Age UK network,
supporting over 8,000 older people each year in Rotherham.

Our aim is to support older people in Rotherham to maintain their independence and quality of life as they get older and have opportunities to take part in activities that will help them to stay healthy and active, maintain social contacts and feel supported within their community.

Our focus is on what local older people say matters most to them: Not being lonely; Staying independent; Being and feeling safe; Keeping as healthy as possible; Being connected within communities.

Our dedicate and experienced staff team deliver targeted support through a range of services; Hospital Aftercare Service, a package of time-limited support in the home following a stay in hospital, helping older people remain independent by developing enabling, confidence and resilience. Our Information and Advice service supports older people to maximise their household income by carrying out benefit entitlement checks, advising and helping them to submit claims. Our EngAge community-based physical, social and mental health & wellbeing activities tackling loneliness and isolation, building connectedness and volunteering opportunities, providing voice, choice and self-agency in their lives and what matters most.
