Female Arrive and Thrive School Mentor

Purpose of the Role:
To provide one-to-one academic and integration support to newly arrived migrant girls aged 11–19 at the Baytree Centre, helping them adapt to formal education in the UK. By supporting them in a range of subjects such as Maths, English, and Science, and assisting them in developing their English skills, the role helps mentees build confidence, overcome challenges, and integrate successfully into school life. The role also involves fostering personal development and confidence-building in line with the Character Development Framework.  

 

Main Responsibilities: 

- Provide individual academic support to a girl aged 11–19, focusing on areas where they require extra assistance, including Maths, English, and Science. 

- Act as a positive role model

- Assist in setting and achieving academic milestones, celebrating progress, and building a sense of achievement. 

- Foster personal development through guidance on goal setting, time management, study skills, and confidence-building techniques. 

- Maintain regular communication with mentees and programme coordinators

This role is open to female applicants only (Equality Act 2010: Schedule 9: Occupational Requirements). Applicants must be 18 years or older.
