Female Arrive and Thrive Teaching Support Volunteer (Academic-Focused)

Purpose of the Role:
To support the delivery of engaging and inclusive academic sessions for newly arrived migrant girls aged 11–19 at the Baytree Centre as part of the Arrive and Thrive programme. The role involves assisting teachers in creating a positive and supportive learning environment, helping students with subjects such as ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) and Maths, and providing one-to-one support to those needing extra assistance. By offering guidance, encouragement, and structured support, the volunteer will contribute to the girls’ confidence, academic progress, and integration into formal education. 

 

Main Responsibilities: 

- Collaborate with teachers in delivering ESOL and Maths lessons. 

- Provide one-to-one support to students, helping them overcome learning challenges and participate actively in lessons. 

- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment where all students feel supported and able to contribute. 

- Encourage students’ academic progress while promoting motivation and engagement. 

This role is open to female applicants only (Equality Act 2010: Schedule 9: Occupational Requirements). Applicants must be 18 years or older.
