Aspierations
Help us launch a podcast to educate and empower Austistic job seekers
Communications challenge
Aspierations is looking to strengthen the autistic community by creating opportunities for meaningful conversation and sharing lived experiences. We aim to produce a podcast series featuring interviews with autistic individuals who have unique stories to tell. This podcast will not only empower the autistic audience by showcasing relatable experiences but also educate neurotypical listeners on autism-friendly communication.
Who we’re looking for
We’re looking for a volunteer with skills in podcast production, including audio editing, storytelling, and promotion. While we have ideas for potential guests and topics, we need support to turn these (and already recorded interviews) into compelling episodes and ensure the podcast reaches the right audience.
What success looks like to us
Success for us means launching a professional podcast series that resonates with autistic listeners and engages neurotypical audiences. We’d love to see episodes shared widely, sparking conversations about autism and bridging communication gaps.
Impact you’ll have
By creating this podcast, Aspierations hopes to foster a sense of community within the autistic population and promote greater understanding and acceptance in society. This project directly aligns with our mission to amplify autistic voices and build a more inclusive world.

Of all the disabled communities in the UK, the autistic community suffers from the highest level of unemployment despite containing talented individuals eager to find work.
Through guidance and expert knowledge around neurodiversity, Aspierations can help forward-thinking employers and autistic people connect. Its a 'win, win'. Autistic candidates find work and organisations potentially benefit from industry innovation by exploiting 'third-way' thinking.
Aspierations has developed a pioneering autism-friendly mock job interview programme which makes it more likely that autistic graduates will attend a job interview. This was successfully trialled at the University of Bath and University of Bristol.
Based on its success, Aspierations developed and currently teaches a course designed for autistic job seekers. Participants learn neurodiversity awareness, CV and Personal Statement writing skills and understand how to claim their legal rights. In addition, they get to learn how to answer skills-based questions at a mock job interview experience culminating in a Graduation Ceremony with a VIP guest.
Aspierations is also persuing digital solutions and has launched the Steevie platform to help individuals get help even if they currently haven't the mental strength to leave their home or feel unable to ask anyone for guidance.
