World Cetacean Alliance
Marketing Support for Whale and Dolphin Conservation
We’re looking for a volunteer to help us raise the profile of our Whale Heritage Areas (WHAs) programme, a global network of locations where local communities celebrate, respect, and protect cetaceans and their habitats. With a Communications Manager in place to support content creation and delivery, we need someone who can develop a marketing plan and guide its implementation.
Our key challenge is turning a wealth of powerful stories and local activity into cohesive, consistent communications that grows the visibility and influence of Whale Heritage Areas. We’re seeking a volunteer with experience in marketing strategy, digital campaign planning, and audience engagement — someone who can help shape our approach and mentor our team in delivering it.
Success is a clear, targeted marketing plan, improved digital presence, and increased engagement with target audiences such as tourism operators, tourists, and community stakeholders. We’d aim to grow website visits, social media reach, and new site enquiries as key outcomes.
This support will directly strengthen our ability to promote responsible tourism and ocean conservation. By helping us communicate the value of Whale Heritage Areas more effectively, you’ll play a vital role in inspiring more communities around the world to protect cetaceans and their habitats.
