Young Citizens
Photographer for events and workshops with schools
Young Citizens is a UK charity that enables schools and colleges to deliver interactive citizenship education for children and young people. From ready-made lesson plans to immersive programmes, we help educators offer engaging yet flexible learning experiences – both as part of the required curriculum and beyond.
As a small charity of fewer than 20 staff, we have a huge ambition to produce high-quality content but often lack technical resources and expertise. To capture the amazing work we do with schools, we are looking for volunteer photographers to attend occasional events and workshops.
We would love your help producing inspiring imagery for our social media, website and in-print materials. With your volunteering support, we can tell the story of our work and attract even more supporters, funding and schools service users.
All schools will have a safeguarding policy to protect their pupils, including the gathering of photographic consent from parents. We can help to arrange this consent, and will advise on best practices when conducting the photography.

Charity Details
Young Citizens is a UK charity that enables schools and colleges to deliver interactive citizenship education for children and young people.
Established in 1989 by Lord Phillips OBE and a group of democracy education experts, we believe citizenship should play a part in every young person’s education before leaving school to help them thrive in and contribute to society today.
From ready-made lesson plans to immersive programmes, we help you offer engaging yet flexible learning experiences – both as part of the required curriculum and beyond.
Working with a huge network of schools and partners, we deliver learning experiences that light the spark of active citizenship from an early age.
We want to empower children and young people to shape their communities, institutions and society, building skills and knowledge for life.
