PR Expert needed to gain press coverage of upcoming trip and attract sponsors
The RDTC have an upcoming trip to Philadelphia. They are the only UK band to be invited to participate in the USA250 celebrations in the city, and will take part in various parades and events celebrating 4th July, including the USA's oldest 4th July parade. As a low income charity, our volunteers have raised over £35,000 of the cost of the trip, which will be in excess of £100K to take 55 band members.
Despite this being a good media opportunity, we have struggled to get any press or TV exposure, apart from a couple of stories in the local press. We are looking for someone to help raise awareness of both the upcoming trip and the band in general.
We feel this trip is a good opportunity to boost the standing of the band, and attract much-needed sponsorship from local and national companies for both this trip and for the future. As the band charges no membership fees, obtaining sponsors and creating partnerships would enable us to offer more opportunities to our young members, provide new instruments and buy desperately needed new uniforms.
