Bail for Immigration Detainees is a human rights charity that has provided free legal advice to over 48,000 people detained under immigration powers across the UK since 1998.

The government are currently planning to increase the use of immigration detention so we are planning a central London exhibition led by people with lived experience of immigration detention.

Unlike detention in the Criminal Justice System, immigration detention lacks critical safeguards such as court oversight, automatic legal advice or representation, and a time limit on detention.

It is a black hole for human rights and we believe that the majority of people would be horrified to know the abuse and suffering people are forced to endure in these places.

That is where you come in. Our main goal for this exhibition is to reach and engage new audiences on the issue of immigration detention. We recognise that press coverage is key to achieving this objective and so are looking for someone who can help with this.

We hope this individual will have experience pitching and securing press and will be able to do this for our exhibition to drive visitors.
