Social media/audience growth mentor needed for global environmental journalism
We need support to rethink and strengthen our approach to growing audiences as declining clicks and changing social algorithms make it harder to reach and retain readers for our environmental journalism, particularly across diverse regions and languages. Our small social media team would value high-level, strategic input on how to make better use of our resources and move beyond reactive, platform-led approaches. We're seeking a volunteer with experience in audience development, social media strategy, analytics, and mission-driven or newsroom environments who enjoys advising and mentoring rather than hands-on delivery. Success would look like; clearer strategic direction, shared ways of thinking about audience growth and success, and increased confidence within our team to test and learn through formats such as newsletters or vertical video. In turn, this guidance would help our journalism connect more meaningfully with global audiences, elevate underrepresented local voices, and support constructive, solutions-focused dialogue on climate and environmental issues.
