Working Option
TikTok – templates and guidance for future content creation
We need creative frameworks
We've taken the careers conversation to where young people told us they wanted to hear from us – TikTok.
After hearing "Please, not another webinar" in our focus groups, we pivoted from lengthy video calls to short-form content. The result, almost 10 million views last year from young people aged 13-24.
Our content succeeds when it builds skills, widens knowledge, and shares opportunities. To scale our impact while maintaining quality and authenticity, we need to establish consistent frameworks for future content (working out what builds engagement and what doesn't).
WE NEED YOUR EXPERTISE
To develop templates and guidance that will help us and our contributors create effective career content (as many of our volunteers are fully remote and self-recorded... we want to make it SUPER easy for them, but also ensure we get something useable to publish).
You bring your creative insight and experience in developing guidelines, we'll provide the platform and audience eager for career guidance.

Every young person deserves the chance to achieve their potential. At Working Options, we support young people aged 14-19 in England and Wales by offering career-boosting opportunities and fostering essential skills such as confidence, resilience, and a growth mindset.
As the number of young people NEET reaches 1 million, the stats speak volumes:
66% of young people leave education without having done any work placement
Investment in this area is down from £159 per pupil (2009) to £68 today
Tailored career support has crashed from 85% (1997) to 33% (2024)
That young people say they feel a lack of skills, confidence and sense of direction are their biggest barriers to getting a job.
Our work has never been more needed...
Our dedicated volunteers deliver inspiring stories and workshops in schools and business settings, both in-person and digitally through digital content. In 2024 we reached over 70,000 young people in person and over 2.2 million online.
By connecting young people with industry professionals, we help them to know their options, find their careers, and navigate their pathways.
Our ambition is to reach all young people, promote social mobility and create a more diverse workforce.
