The task: to produce and edit a 2 minute crowdfunding video which will form a key part of our forthcoming crowdfunding campaign.

  • It is more important that the video expresses passion, authenticity and emotion
  • A past crowdfunding video can be found here: https://youtu.be/4Vdyu48fNU4
  • We all work remotely in the UK, and the cause we are supporting is in Malawi.
  • We can provide guidance and frameworks used in past videos

Skills required:

  • Video production
  • Creative project management
  • Ability to remotely direct non-professional presenters
  • Video editing in Adobe Premiere
  • Subtitling skills
  • Access to a computer with Adobe Creative Cloud software
  • Strong collaborative skills
  • Ability to gather and work with mixed quality assets

Desirable skills:

  • Motion graphics, ideally on After Effects or potentially on Canva
  • Script-writing
  • Basic audio engineering and video grading

Goal: to persuade viewers to pledge to and share the crowdfunding campaign

The impact: through the campaign, we aim to fund a £4,000 to enable girls in Malawi to stay in school when they have their periods. Without menstrual hygiene management support, they miss up to five days of school each month. This leads to increased drop out rates, reduced academic performance, and increased risk of young pregnancies and child marriages.

A BRIGHTER FUTURE THROUGH EDUCATION

We work hand in hand with Malawians to improve access to quality education, allowing them to fulfil their ambitions, improve their quality of life and contribute to Malawi’s development.

We are a UK based charity, with a team of knowledgeable and dedicated trustees and volunteers who operate the charity, this enables over 90% of all donations to go direct to the education projects in Malawi which we support.

We formed in 2011 and in that time have worked hand in hand with various education projects to deliver the maximum possible impact for our beneficiaries, the children and young people of Malawi.

Projects we have funded include provision of textbooks, classroom construction, a feeding programme, school water and sanitation projects and teacher training. In addition, we are very proud of our Her Education Matters programme, which enables girls to stay in school when they have their periods by providing them with reusable sanitary pads and changing rooms at school. Without these provisions, girls in Malawi miss up to five days of school per month.
