Charity Evaluation Working Group (ChEW)
Advice needed about Wix – for memberships, events coordination, marketing & more
We are a network supporting 300+ evaluators across the charity sector. We provide training and facilitate connection, shared learning, and innovation. Our vision is a world where charities and funders are more impactful and effective. Our members include Comic Relief, Citizens Advice, Breast Cancer Now, Crisis, Macmillan and more.
As a membership organisation, we run everything on Wix (e.g. subscriptions, events, e-mail campaigns, our website). However, this was set up a long time ago and we don't have a good understanding of it. In particular, we struggle to analyse and manage our membership data.
We are looking for someone to offer practical advice for how to make the best use of the functions, and potentially make quick improvements (if feasible). This should be straightforward for someone familiar with Wix.
The opportunity to strengthen our work and the work of our members is huge! We are a tiny organisation, funded entirely by the services we deliver. We have 0.3FTE staff and a £25k annual budget! Any help would be gratefully received. We can be flexible with working arrangements, (i.e. over what period and at what times we engage).

Wessex Community Action
Volunteer Communications Strategy Support
The Challenge: Wessex Community Action needs help developing a clear and practical communications strategy. We want to improve how we engage local charities and community groups across Wiltshire through better messaging, content, and use of channels (website, social media, newsletters).
What We’re Looking For: We're seeking a volunteer with experience in communications strategy, marketing, or audience engagement. Knowledge of the charity sector is a bonus, but not essential.
What Success Looks Like: A simple, usable communications plan outlining our key messages, audiences, and channels — helping us raise awareness, grow engagement, and better show our impact.
The Impact: Your support will help more local organisations discover and benefit from our services, ultimately strengthening communities and supporting people across Wiltshire.

Mummys Star
Creative social media volunteer needed for maternal cancer campaign
We are preparing to launch a campaign on maternal rights for women and birthing people diagnosed with cancer during pregnancy or postpartum in the UK, and we are looking for practical, hands-on support to help our content reach and engage as many people as possible.
We have campaign messaging, stories, and statistics ready, but we need help creating content that resonates, particularly in formats that extend beyond our usual audience, such as short videos, social media-friendly graphics, or interactive posts.
We’re especially keen on advice and support around what types of content perform best, how to adapt our stories for different platforms, and how to maximise reach with limited resources.
We are looking for a volunteer with experience in social media content creation, audience engagement, and video or multimedia production. Success would be a set of practical recommendations and content examples we can use immediately to launch our campaign effectively.
Your support will directly help us amplify the voices of women and birthing people affected, raise awareness of their challenges, and drive engagement with our campaign, ensuring our launch has the greatest possible impact.

FareShare South West
Graphic designer needed to help us wrap a double-decker bus
We got an incredible offer to wrap a double-decker with our livery. We could never pay for this kind of advertising, so this is game-changing - but the design agency we chose to complete the one paid element (the artwork itself) has gone into liquidation. We’re out of pocket, without a design, and need to act now to stop this amazing opportunity from slipping away.
We already have photography, copy and draft artwork and can supply our brand guidelines. We need someone with the skills to create the large-scale print-ready files to go into production.
A branded bus on the streets of Plymouth would support our hub team to recruit 60 new regular volunteers over the next 12 months. It will raise awareness of our name locally to support our winter Big Give fundraiser and recruit new food and corporate partners.
Over 340 smaller charities, schools and community groups rely on us to send them weekly food deliveries, all drawn from food that would otherwise go to waste. Last year, we shared food for over 4 million meals. We’re integral to healthy food support in the region, and we need your help.
