Volunteer with a small youth charity

Empower a small London youth charity through Media Trust’s Communications Building Programme, in partnership with John Lyon’s Charity! Mentor them in communications, marketing, and fundraising to amplify their voice and increase their impact. This initiative supports 20 London youth charities annually, strengthening their strategic communications, digital skills, knowledge and ultimately benefiting the young people they serve.

Volunteers mentors will meet with their assigned charity online or in person twice a month, for a total of up to 4 hours. Mentors will be introduced to the charity they’ve been paired with at our virtual ‘Meet and Greet’ event on Wednesday 30 April 2025, 12:00 – 13:00. The event will kick off the mentoring relationship. 

We're looking for volunteers with expertise in the following areas

  • Content creation
  • Digital marketing
  • Impact
  • Fundraising
  • Messaging
  • Public/media relations
  • Social media
  • Stakeholder engagement
  • Websites 

Your skills will help the charities enhance their support for youth through projects related to integration, inclusion, education, the arts and other local community causes. Additionally, this is an excellent way to gain strategic and leadership experience for your CV.
