GDPR: Are you ready?
Clear Channel, W1F 9JT
Friday 9 February 2018 09:30 - 12:00
Join us for an informative session on how GDPR impacts your charity and what essential steps you need to take to avoid big fines and prosecution.
GDPR is not just a fundraising issue but one that will apply across the board from marketing to managing volunteers. As a charity you will need to identity and implement an effective strategy for protecting and processing data before the law is introduced in May 2018.
James Howarth is a partner at law firm Howes Percival and he specialises in intellectual property, media issues and data protection. He has a great deal of experience advising a range of institutions (including universities, manufacturers and professional organisations), on both the existing data protection regime and the forthcoming GDPR.
This Masterclass will be one of an extensive series of seminars that James has been running on the subject over the past year and it will provide a general overview of the GDPR before focusing on the need for accountability (with some tips for easy wins) and then looking at some of the issues that are particularly relevant to charities.
The Masterclass will cover:
- An Introduction to GDPR
- Practical Tips for Showing Accountability
- Charity Specific Issues
- The Future of Direct Marketing
This is an introductory session for charities wanting to gain an overview of GDPR and how to successfully implement it.
We would like to acknowledge the generous support from The Marketing Trust in supporting this initiative. The Marketing Trust is an independent charity that supports research into markets and training to foster a wider understanding of the benefits of marketing.
