Media Trust & Leo Burnett Reframing Disability Mentoring Programme

Media Trust and Leo Burnett have partnered to deliver a mentoring programme for Disabled and/or Neurodivergent talent entering the advertising industry.

We are very excited to be moving into our second year of partnership with Leo Burnett to jointly move the dial on Disabled and Neurodivergent talent in advertising.

Applications for the programme are currently closed.

Register your interest for 2025

This programme continues our work to ensure the media industry becomes more receptive to and representative of disabled talent. Our mentoring programme for 2024 hand-matched 9 Disabled and/or Neurodivergent mentees at entry-level or early-stage in their careers with 9 inspiring senior mentors from across Leo Burnett UK.

Mentors and mentees were matched and worked together one-on-one throughout the six-month virtual programme. The experience provided both mentees and mentors with personal and professional development opportunities. Mentees also benefitted from monthly mentoring circles including webinars, panels, and skill-enhancement workshops.

Register your interest or follow us on social to be the first to hear when we open for applications for 2025!

We are always looking for mentors for future programmes to support under-represented creative industry talent. If you are interested, get in touch directly with daisyc@mediatrust.org.

The structure and content of this programme will be adjusted for accessibility, including but not limited to, BSL interpretation, live captioning, resources in other formats etc. Leo Burnett & Media Trust are also offering bursaries to support mentees with any further personal access needs to participate in the programme. These could be the cost of caring cover if you have caring responsibilities or the cost of appropriate support if you have a physical or mental health condition. Since the programme will be delivered online, if you need financial assistance to pay for enhanced mobile/WiFi connectivity, headphones, webcams etc, please let us know.

I feel like this programme gave me the opportunity to be seen by industry professionals, and gain connections that were less accessible to me as a disabled person with a unique route into industry. It also gave me a great boost of confidence that my disability was not a big a barrier into the industry as I suspected, and that I had value and skills to offer.
