According to research, the advertising and marketing industry is projected to grow by 10% in the next decade, outpacing the average for all occupations. Yet we know the people who work in advertising often don’t reflect the backgrounds and life experiences of UK society. Boost Talent helps talent from less socioeconomically advantaged backgrounds get a head start in the media and advertising industry.

We’re matching 15 mentees with experienced employees in the media and advertising sector and giving them the opportunity to undergo a 6-month mentorship programme complete with hands-on workshops, project opportunities, and monthly 1-2-1 hand-matched mentorship.

Havas Boost: Talent is a free, virtual programme for people from less advantaged socioeconomic backgrounds living in the North West of England. It is designed for people aged 18+ seeking an entry-level role in advertising. No previous experience required!

*You might be wondering: what do we mean by less advantaged socioeconomic background? Well, this can mean many things, both referring to the circumstances in which you grew up, as well as your circumstances now. If you did, or are currently, experiencing hardship, barriers or challenges, then please do get in touch and apply – there’s a strong chance you are eligible, even if you don’t necessarily identify with this language.

The programme

Over 6 months, Havas Boost will provide all participants with 1:1 mentoring with a media and advertising industry professional. There will also be group mentoring, workshops, panels and a practical project to support participants in developing a portfolio.
