With over 150 million monthly active users in Europe,  TikTok is the go-to destination for people looking to connect, discover something new or share their authentic selves.

That’s why Media Trust have joined forces with TikTok to build your knowledge, skills and confidence so you can use TikTok to:

  • raise awareness for your cause

  • discover new fundraising opportunities
  • connect with a new generation of volunteers and campaigners
  • provide trusted information and advice to a global audience
  • amplify underrepresented voices on the platform
  • mobilise audiences to drive positive social change

Growing your organisations presence and tone of voice on a new platform can be daunting. But you don’t need to do it alone. Our TikTok Charity Academy will give you the skills and strategies your charity needs to thrive on the platform.

  • Dates: Tuesday and Thursday mornings, 1-19 July, with additional optional sessions
  • Location: Online
  • Cost: Free

Working in collaboration with industry-leading experts, up to 100 charity professionals will join us this July for a free, three-week online training programme to boost strategy, confidence and creativity.

We’re running live practical online training, and there will be opportunities for personalised feedback from trainers who know how to use TikTok as a powerful tool for social good.

This training is free. No dancing or random pointing required! Just good solid advice on building your audience, getting your message across and mobilising your community to take action.

The training

Over three weeks (1-19 July), TikTok Charity Academy will cover the tools and techniques you need to get the most from the platform, plus additional topics unique to those of us working in the charity sector. We’ll be learning:

TikTok fundamentals

  • Optimising your profile
  • How to identify your target audience on TikTok
  • Creating a successful TikTok strategy

Craft your content

  • Digital storytelling that cuts through
  • Engaging hooks and calls to action
  • Getting your staff and volunteers involved
  • Using platform features, such as LIVE, TikTok sounds, filters, duets and stitch
  • How to edit content with CapCut

Maximise your charity's impact

  • Introduction to analytics
  • Integrating TikTok into your wider digital comms strategy, including how to allocate resources
  • How to cover sensitive topics
  • Trolling and how to support staff with their mental wellbeing

I'd been told I needed to get onto TikTok, but was overwhelmed with where to begin. I now feel more confident about starting my account, and have many ideas about the content we can create!
